Products we have built.

An embedded operating system, a point-of-sale platform, an electric vehicle — and an open-source 3D engine we sponsor. Different industries, the same approach: hardware and software designed together, in the open.

CASE 01 / Embedded OS

ExOS

Our own operating system for microcontrollers — the base of every device we ship.

ExOS brings a POSIX programming model to microcontrollers without the weight of a full operating system. Threads, files, sockets and drivers behave as developers expect, so a hardware idea becomes a working prototype quickly and the same code carries into production.

HARDWAREFIRMWARESOFTWARE

What we built

  • POSIX kernel with threads, files and sockets for ARM Cortex-M
  • Reusable driver set: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, CAN, serial
  • Open source on GitHub, in production in our devices

CASE 03 / Electric vehicle

Xkuty

An electric vehicle where the iPhone is the key and the dashboard.

Xkuty One is a light electric vehicle with an iPhone as its control centre: keyless start, speed limits and configuration from the app. We designed the control electronics, wrote the firmware on ExOS and built the iOS application, so every layer was engineered against the others.

What we built

  • Vehicle control electronics, designed in-house
  • Firmware on ExOS
  • iPhone app: keyless start, speed limits and setup

CASE 04 / Open source we sponsor

Untold Engine

An open-source engine for Apple platforms: an advanced renderer to embed in any app, or full games and XR. We sponsor it and contribute code.

Untold Engine is an open-source Swift and Metal engine for macOS, iOS and visionOS, created and led by Harold Serrano. Apps can embed just its advanced renderer, or use the whole engine for games and spatial computing. We don’t own it: we sponsor it and contribute code, because the tools we build on should stay open.

What we built

  • Sponsorship through GitHub Sponsors
  • Code contributions to the engine and its ecosystem
  • Untold repositories on our GitHub: editor, Jolt physics, SharePlay, Gaussian splats
